Expert Inspections and Valuations of Boats and Yachts
 |
| Captain Mark Wallace |
Sometimes you just need to know what a vessel is worth, and we can provide
you with a reliable estimate, as well as alerting you to any issues that
should be attended to. Captain Mark Wallace, who is an Accredited Marine Surveyor (number
948) and member of the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS)
oversees our survey efforts.Pre-Purchase Survey
This is the most comprehensive type of inspection and is strongly advised
when purchasing a new or used vessel. Condition and the overall operation
of the vessel should be examined. This includes such items as structural
integrity, out of water inspection, sea trial, electrical systems, propulsion
system, fuel system, machinery, navigation, miscellaneous systems, cosmetic
appearance, and overall maintenance. Check this .PDF link for a
Sample Survey .
Insurance Survey
This inspection is performed so that the insurance company can determine
whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. They are interested in
structural integrity and safety for its intended use. Most insurance
companies require a survey on older boats. They will also want an estimate
of fair market value.
Appraisal Inspection
This inspection is performed to gather enough information to justify or
determine fair market value of the vessel. This is normally needed for
financing, estate settlements, donations, and legal cases.
Oil samples
We can collect, ship, and provide the analysis of engine oil samples.
This can provide valuable information on the condition of
the engines that would not otherwise be evident.
Hurricane Preparations
We are including a free link to a handy guide to making
adequate preparations for storms. Going through this at your earliest
opportunity is highly recommended. Should you request it, we can
provide services associated with preparing your boat in advance of a
storm, then document those efforts using the checklist found on page
9. Early preparation is the key and giving us notice days in advance
of approaching storms will best allow us to schedule any efforts you
may request.
